Father's Day in Maine

Maya's first touch of the Atlantic Ocean.

Maya loved the beach, especially walking in the waves and the wet sand. She would stop and interrupt her concentrated walking with laughs of delight. Maya tasted the sand a couple of times, which dismayed her, and she stopped to look at everything, like the seagulls.

On Saturday Maya said, "Thank you!" One of her first few words.

Nathan behaved well (most of the time), slept and napped hard, and ate heartily this weekend. Ah, the beach life!
Nathan always loves the beach and wants to stay more--more hours, more days. His shrieks of happiness were delightful as he splashed in the waves. He spent more time playing in the sand during this visit, building castles and roads with his dad. Peter had a great time too, until he became terribly ill during after lunch. He insisted on accompanying us to the beach for an evening walk however, and the sea air really seemed to cure him (along with other medicine and hours of rest.) Ogunquit has a beautiful, well-kept beach which makes every visit spectacular and memorable.
