Maine in September

Building a sand castle. Peter tries to explain wind directions to Nathan so he would not dumping sand in his sister's direction. Our little builder said, "Uh huh, uh huh" and continued with what he was doing. Does he sound like other contractors Peter has known?

Someone wet and sandy and very cute decided to surprise her mommy with a hug.

Nathan and Maya really loved the beach, playing with the sand, gathering shells, and splashing in the waves. The Ogunquit beach is beautiful with clean, white sand and within walking distance of our hotel.

Our beach bunny makes the lightest footprints on the sand.
We visited Freeport, Maine, whose outlets are housed in a charming village setting. A few miles away we had a great dinner at the Harraseeket Lobster and Lunch shack which is right on the marina. You can eat fried seafood or steamed lobster next to the boats. Good food in a perfect setting. We tried a whoopie pie for the first time, sort of like an iced chocolate cake in sandwich-style. And, for those of you who keep track of our ice cream adventures, Nathan and Maya enjoyed Maine-made ice cream.
