Scarecrows in Old Wethersfield

The load of scarecrows going on a tractor ride was charming. Maya appears to be strolling by casually but she is making a beeline either for the street or to grab at more scarecrows--Peter is right next to her to redirect the action.










We love this tradition of scarecrows along Main St. in Old Wethersfield. Various community groups or individuals exhibit their creations for a few weeks. With ice cream in hand (of course!) we visited each display with Nathan shouting excitedly in the lead.








How fun and creative! Who will win the scarecrow contest this year?












Nathan takes a closer look at the magician scarecrow pulling a rabbit out of his hat. The trick amazes Maya too. This scarecrow stands next to Sir Skeleton John.
















Nathan makes a great face to match the clever masks behind him. Silly, scary, and strange, these masks are painted baskets.
