How fingers can turn green on a chilly day

On this very windy and frosty morning (it's now 18 degrees out), Nathan and Maya took shelter in our laundry basket. Our first snow arrived on Thursday, the 18th, much to Nathan's delight.

We are fans of MaryAnn Kohl's art books for children. By mixing two cups of cornstarch with one cup of water and drops of various food colors, we had a fantastic dough that was both a liquid and a solid. We could mold a ball that would suddenly "melt" into a puddle.

Lots of giggles and green fingers. Our hands still look like they belong to the Incredible Hulk, which we think is a bonus to the hour of laughter and play.
