First Weekend of August

Running around on campus after eating ice cream at the Dairy Bar on a warm and humid day.

Peter showed Nathan and Maya how to whistle using a blade of sawgrass. The kids marveled at their father's talent and then plucked grass from the lawn to try it too.

A gorgeous, gemstone-themed, mosaic apple on the Apple Trail in Glastonbury, much like the cows, dogs, moose, etc., trails in other towns which showcase local art talent and benefit social organizations.

At lunch. Nathan even politely reminded the waitress to bring the kids' ice cream cups at the end of the meal.

Picking freestone peaches at a nearby orchard. Fragrant peaches, lovely view, and easy picking. Maya has composed an "I like peaches" song to express her delight.

Just like his father! Nathan admired many vintage cars at a big show this weekend. Peter was on the lookout for something similar to his old Buick but instead found a pickup truck similar to the one he learned how to drive on. Nathan was thrilled to see cars just like "Flo," "Doc," and others from the movie "Cars."
