Outdoor Fun and a Trip to the ER

Painting outdoors with found brushes. Nathan liked brushes with the most splatter power, flicking paint all over the paper and his shirt. Maya preferred painting with rocks.

Such pretty, pretty spring days. Well worth the allergies...I think. We have been walking around the neighborhood to peek at all the birds and flowers. We walk as far as Maya can go, until she says: "Up with Mommy," and then Nathan bounds home followed slowly by his mother carrying a chirpy and suddenly very heavy girl.

We play badminton of sorts in the yard which Nathan picked up quickly. Maya fluttered about. What's under that big band-aid on her forehead? Five stitches. Our hopping, jumping girl fell into a wall corner in a restaurant while we were waiting for the restroom. After a visit to the ER, her family was totally traumatized, so Maya picked a very good time to ask: "Can we get ice cream now?" Fortunately the gash seems to have healed well. Maya continues to jump, hop, and run, despite her family's constant refrain of: "Don't run!" and "Be careful!" In response she yells: "I am!"...as she runs by.
