Mother's Day in Maine

Beachtime during the day and swimming in the hotel pool in the evening: bliss to Nathan and Maya We spent a relaxing weekend in Maine and found the sea air to be a soothing, rejuvenating curative.

On Saturday night, the kids were too excited to sleep, so I woke up quite grumpy on Mother's Day. Maya and I strolled into town while the guys went swimming in the pool. We ate lunch at a seafood shack, a serious shack, not one of those places decorated with mermaids, nets, and fishy things, although both sorts can offer good food. After naptime (for all of us), we played on the beach, and Nathan flew his new kite.

We gathered shells, played in the sand for a bit, and ran and ran on the white sand. Now, almost daily, we hear requests to return to Maine, which is indeed a very special place.
